ARLINGTON, VA (January 27, 2025) – A devastating multi-vehicle crash at a busy Ballston intersection Monday afternoon left one person dead and another in critical condition.
The Arlington County Police Department reported that the incident occurred around 2:40 PM at the intersection of Wilson Boulevard and N. Vermont Street. Traffic camera footage showed a gray pickup truck speeding eastbound on Wilson Boulevard before colliding with a white sedan that had just turned onto Wilson from N. Vermont Street. The impact sent both vehicles skidding into two others that were waiting at the intersection of Wilson Boulevard and N. Glebe Road.
Emergency crews transported both the pickup driver, an adult male, and the sedan driver, an adult female, to a local hospital with critical injuries. Authorities later confirmed that the female driver of the sedan had succumbed to her injuries. The driver of the pickup remains in critical condition.
Police closed the area for an extended investigation, and the identity of the deceased is being withheld pending family notification.
