AUSTIN, TX (January 11, 2025) – A 56-year-old man has died from injuries sustained in a two-vehicle traffic collision on I-35 late last year, the Austin Police Department (APD) has confirmed.
The victim, identified as Dominic Rene Gonzalez, was involved in the crash on Sunday, December 29, 2024, at approximately 1:09 p.m. The accident occurred in the 10500 block of N IH 35 southbound.
APD officers arriving at the scene found two vehicles involved in the collision. Gonzalez was transported to a local hospital, where he remained in care for over a week. Tragically, he succumbed to his injuries on January 6, 2025.
The driver of the second vehicle involved in the collision was reportedly uninjured. Authorities have not released additional details, and the incident remains under investigation.
