Azle, TX (January 29, 2025) – Authorities have identified the man killed in a two-vehicle collision on State Highway 199 in Azle late Saturday night as 67-year-old Jaime Ruiz, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The fatal crash occurred around 10:45 p.m. on January 25 at the intersection of SH-199 and Commerce Street. According to reports, Ruiz was driving a Toyota Tacoma westbound on SH-199 when an eastbound Ford F-250, carrying four passengers, crossed over the center median into the westbound lanes and collided with the Tacoma.
Ruiz became trapped inside his vehicle and was pronounced deceased at the scene by first responders. A female passenger in the Tacoma sustained minor injuries. No additional injuries were reported among those in the Ford F-250.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash to determine what led to the Ford F-250 crossing into opposing traffic.
