Moorhead, MN (August 3, 2025) — A tragic accident in Moorhead claimed the life of a young boy Thursday afternoon after he was struck by a public works truck while riding his bicycle in a crosswalk.

According to reports, the fatal incident occurred on August 1 at the intersection of 40th Avenue and 14th Street. Authorities said a 9-year-old child was riding his bike through a crosswalk when he was struck by a 2018 Mack 700 truck operated by the City of Moorhead Public Works Department.
