Waldorf, MD (June 2, 2025) — Emergency crews rushed to the scene of a serious bicycle accident Saturday evening after a collision on Smallwood Drive West in Waldorf.
According to reports, Charles County dispatchers received the call just before 5:25 p.m. on June 1. Responders arrived near the 1300 block and found an adult bicyclist suffering from significant injuries, including a broken nose and a leg injury, following contact with a vehicle. Due to the severity of the trauma, Maryland State Police Aviation Command Trooper 2 was dispatched, and the cyclist was airlifted to Capital Region Medical Center in Largo.
Two additional individuals were also assessed and transported by ground to Charles Regional Medical Center. The roadway experienced temporary closures while emergency personnel worked the scene. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
