Blount County, AL (April 29, 2025) – A deadly crash Saturday afternoon on Blount County 5 near Pinecrest Drive left one man dead and two others injured, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
The accident happened around 2:50 p.m. on April 26, about three miles west of Blount Springs. Authorities reported that 34-year-old Shawn Albright of Hayden was driving a 2000 Honda Accord when his vehicle collided head-on with a 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 operated by 46-year-old Bridget Biggs of Pinson.
Tragically, Albright, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, was pronounced dead at the scene. Biggs sustained injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. A child passenger riding in the Dodge Ram also suffered injuries and was taken to a hospital. Officials have not released specific details regarding the severity of their injuries.
Troopers with ALEA continue to investigate the cause of the crash. No further updates have been provided.
