Walton County, FL (December 11, 2025) – A serious crash involving a passenger vehicle and a semi-truck left a Bonifay man critically injured Tuesday afternoon on Interstate 10.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the collision occurred just before 4:30 p.m. on December 9. A 43-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman from Fort Worth, Texas, were traveling eastbound in a semi-truck on I-10 when they began slowing due to traffic conditions. A vehicle driven by a man from Bonifay, also heading east, reportedly failed to reduce speed and collided with the rear of the semi-truck.
The impact caused the smaller vehicle to become lodged beneath the trailer, trapping the Bonifay driver for approximately two hours. Emergency responders worked intensively to free him from the wreckage. He was later transported to a medical facility in critical condition. The highway remained closed for several hours and has since reopened.
