Brevard County, FL (May 28, 2025) – A tragic crash along Interstate 95 on Monday claimed the life of a Titusville mother and left her three children injured after a pickup truck suffered a tire blowout and collided with her van, according to authorities.
According to reports, the crash occurred just before 12:30 p.m. on May 26 on I-95 South near the Pineda Causeway. Olivia Maggs, 32, was driving a 2023 Honda Odyssey in the inside lane with her three children when a 2003 Ford F-350 in the center lane experienced a tire failure. The 58-year-old driver lost control, causing the truck to strike Maggs’ vehicle.
Both vehicles veered off the highway and hit a guardrail. Maggs was pronounced dead at the scene. Her 8-month-old daughter was airlifted with a broken femur and brain bleed. Her two sons, ages 3 and 4, were hospitalized and are expected to recover.
The pickup truck driver and a 20-year-old passenger from New York were not injured and stayed at the scene. The Florida Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the tire blowout and the crash.
