Lubbock County, TX (August 19, 2025) – A Colorado man who tragically lost his life in a wrong-way crash on U.S. Highway 84 last Friday has been identified as 51-year-old Brian King.
News sources show the collision took place at approximately 3:57 a.m. on August 15 about 6/10 of a mile northwest of County Road 3100. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, King was driving a 2025 Nissan Altima northwest in the inside left lane of eastbound US 84 when he struck a 2023 Ford F-250 towing a trailer.
Both vehicles collided head-on. King was transported to University Medical Center in Lubbock, where he succumbed to his injuries the following day, on Saturday, August 16.
Two individuals from Navasota, Texas, the 28-year-old driver of the Ford and his 26-year-old female passenger, were also injured and hospitalized with moderate injuries.
