Barry, MO (July 17, 2025) – A serious two-vehicle crash just south of Pierce City on Wednesday afternoon sent two Aurora residents to the hospital and left both vehicles totaled.

According to reports, the crash occurred at approximately 12:55 p.m. on July 16 along United States Highway 60, about three miles south of Pierce City. A red 2017 Chevrolet Cruze driven by a 55-year-old man from Carthage was heading eastbound when he attempted to make a left turn in front of a westbound 2024 Chevrolet Trailblazer.

The Trailblazer, driven by a 56-year-old woman from Aurora, struck the Cruze, resulting in a major collision. Both vehicles sustained total damage and were towed from the scene by Thomas Towing.

The woman and a 71-year-old male passenger from Aurora, both in the Trailblazer, sustained moderate injuries despite wearing safety devices. EMS transported both victims to Cox South Hospital for further care.
