According to reports, the 78-year-old musician was en route to St. Louis for business on June 17 when he fell asleep at the wheel. The crash occurred after a late night following a Speedwagon concert and afterparty at the State Farm Center in Champaign. Luttrell admitted he had been awake until around 4:30 a.m. before starting the drive.
