Chicago, IL (June 22, 2025) – A serious crash involving multiple vehicles in the Bridgeport neighborhood left three people injured and two individuals in custody Friday morning, according to Chicago police.
According to reports, the incident occurred around 7:30 a.m. on June 21 near the 600 block of West 31st Street. A 31-year-old man driving a Hyundai sedan westbound reportedly ran a stop sign and collided with a northbound Honda sedan on Lowe Avenue. The impact also pushed the Hyundai into a parked Infiniti SUV.
The 68-year-old driver of the Honda was taken to Stroger Hospital with minor injuries and is reported to be in good condition. A male passenger in the Hyundai suffered critical head and chest injuries and was also transported to Stroger Hospital. The Hyundai’s driver sustained minor injuries but initially fled the scene.
Police later took both the driver and the passenger of the Hyundai into custody. The driver received four citations, and charges are pending. The crash remains under investigation by the CPD Major Accidents Unit.
