Chicago, IL (June 16, 2025) – Two individuals were hospitalized early Sunday morning after a car crashed into an Illinois Department of Transportation truck on the Dan Ryan Expressway.
According to reports, the crash occurred just before 2:30 a.m. on June 16 on the southbound side of Interstate 94 near West 83rd Street. Illinois State Police said the vehicle struck an IDOT truck that was positioned on the expressway, resulting in injuries to both occupants of the car.
The two injured individuals were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Authorities have not yet provided an update on their conditions. The left three lanes of I-94 were closed for several hours, reopening just before 7 a.m. as the investigation continued.
The Illinois State Police is currently working to determine the cause of the crash.
