Chicago, IL (July 30, 2025) – A nighttime crash on the city’s South Side sent three people to the hospital Tuesday after two vehicles collided in the Washington Park neighborhood.
According to reports, the incident occurred at approximately 10:55 p.m. on July 29 near the 300-block of East Garfield Boulevard. Chicago police said a purple sedan was heading northbound on Prairie Avenue when it collided with a black car traveling westbound on Garfield Boulevard.
After the impact, the purple sedan came to a rest between a tree and a nearby building. Video footage from the scene showed significant damage to both vehicles.
The male driver of the purple sedan and two female occupants of the black car were transported to nearby hospitals. All three individuals are expected to recover. Chicago police noted that citations are pending as the investigation continues.
