Greene, MO (July 17, 2025) – A two-vehicle crash along Interstate 44 on Wednesday afternoon left one man with injuries after his vehicle was struck from behind.
According to reports, the incident happened at approximately 3:40 p.m. on July 16, four miles east of Halltown. A 2022 Kia Niro, driven by a 60-year-old man from Miller, was traveling eastbound when traffic ahead began to slow for an unknown reason. A 2019 Freightliner Cascadia, operated by a 28-year-old man from Mainville, Ohio, failed to stop in time and rear-ended the Kia.
The Kia sustained extensive damage and was towed from the scene by Henry’s Towing, while the Freightliner had moderate damage and was also removed by the same company. The driver of the Kia was wearing a safety device and suffered minor injuries. He was transported to Cox South Hospital in Springfield for treatment.
