Jackson County, FL (August 3, 2025) — A Thursday night crash in Jackson County claimed the life of a Marianna woman and left two others injured after a vehicle lost control and overturned.
According to reports, the fatal single-vehicle crash occurred around 11:00 p.m. on August 1 on Lakepoint Road near the intersection with Highway 231. The Florida Highway Patrol stated that three women from Marianna were traveling northbound when the 31-year-old driver attempted to take a sharp turn.
The vehicle veered off the roadway, struck a tree, and overturned multiple times before coming to a stop. One of the passengers, a 56-year-old woman, died from her injuries. Her name has not been released pending next-of-kin notification.
The driver and a second passenger, a 46-year-old woman, sustained minor injuries. Officials have not confirmed whether speed or impairment were contributing factors. The investigation by FHP remains active.
