According to reports, the crash took place at approximately 7:48 p.m. on August 2 near Yelm Highway Southeast and Armour Drive Southeast. Authorities say a Suzuki Samurai sideswiped another vehicle, believed to be a Chevrolet or Ford classic truck. The impact forced the truck off the roadway, through a fence, and into a tree.
Responders from Lacey Police Department and Thurston County Sheriff’s Office arrived on scene to find one of the drivers unconscious. The individual later showed signs of responsiveness as emergency crews provided medical attention and coordinated further treatment.
Westbound lanes of Yelm Highway Southeast were completely blocked following the crash, though one lane was reopened shortly after to ease congestion. Officials continue to investigate the incident and have not yet released details on possible citations or contributing factors.
