Seymour, MO (July 22, 2025) – A teenage driver suffered injuries Tuesday afternoon following a two-vehicle crash in Douglas County, several miles south of Seymour.
According to reports, the crash took place around 2:35 p.m. on July 22 on BB Highway, approximately eight miles south of Seymour. A 16-year-old girl from Sparta was driving a 2008 Dodge Avenger northbound when her vehicle collided with a towed unit attached to a 2022 Ford F-250, driven by a 56-year-old man from Seymour traveling southbound.
Investigators say the Ford F-250 driver failed to yield and pulled into the path of the oncoming Dodge. The collision caused extensive damage to the Dodge Avenger, which had to be towed from the scene. The teen driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to Cox South Hospital in Springfield by private vehicle. The Ford pickup was able to be driven away, and the driver was not reported injured.
