Summit County, UT (June 29, 2025) — A serious crash along Interstate 80 left two people hospitalized after their vehicle collided with a semi truck and overturned into an embankment Friday.
According to reports, the accident happened on June 28 near mile marker 191 as a Chevy Pacifica was traveling eastbound toward Evanston. Utah Highway Patrol stated the vehicle drifted out of its lane, striking the back end of a semi truck before the driver lost control. The impact sent the Pacifica veering off the right side of the interstate, where it slammed into an embankment and rolled over.
Emergency crews responded quickly and had to extricate both occupants from the heavily damaged vehicle. Authorities said one passenger was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. One victim was airlifted to a hospital while the other was transported by ambulance, both reported to be in serious condition. The crash remains under investigation by Utah Highway Patrol.
