West Bridgewater, MA (July 30, 2025) — A serious single-vehicle crash Tuesday morning prompted the shutdown of both sides of Route 24 in West Bridgewater for a medical helicopter landing.

According to reports, the crash occurred around 11 a.m. on July 29 on the southbound side of Route 24 at mile marker 27.2, shortly after the Route 106 interchange. Massachusetts State Police reported that the operator of the vehicle sustained serious injuries and required air transport to a trauma center.

To allow the helicopter to safely land, authorities temporarily shut down both directions of Route 24. As of the latest update, the left and center lanes of the southbound side remained closed for the ongoing investigation. MassDOT officials noted that traffic delays and partial lane closures may continue for several hours.
