Young County, TX (June 16, 2025) – A 17-year-old girl from Henrietta lost her life Friday morning in a tragic collision involving a dump truck near Olney.
According to reports, the crash happened around 8:41 a.m. on June 14 along State Highway 251. A 2012 Mack dump truck was traveling southbound on the highway and attempted to make a wide turn. During this maneuver, the truck struck a 2015 Ford Focus that had been following it and carrying two 17-year-olds.
The young passenger was transported to Olney Hamilton Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. The teen driving the Ford Focus was also injured and hospitalized. Authorities have not released further details on the nature of the driver’s injuries.
Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the circumstances of the crash as officials work to determine liability.
