Chicago, IL (January 5, 2025) – A 32-year-old woman was killed early Sunday morning, December 29, after a high-speed crash in the Back of the Yards neighborhood.
The crash occurred shortly before 4 a.m. in the 500 block of West Garfield Boulevard. According to Chicago police, the woman was driving a Hyundai SUV westbound on Garfield Boulevard at a high rate of speed when she struck a median and then collided with a tree. The impact caused the woman to be ejected from the vehicle.
Fire crews transported her to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead. Her identity has not yet been released.
