Hershey, PA (July 25, 2025) — A visit to Hersheypark’s water attraction ended in tragedy Thursday when a 9-year-old child died after an incident at The Boardwalk, a themed section of the popular Pennsylvania amusement park.
News sources show that lifeguards sprang into action upon noticing the child in distress. The rescue took place within The Boardwalk, which includes over a dozen water attractions. While it is unclear exactly which area the incident occurred in, emergency efforts were initiated immediately.
Lifeguards, on-site medical responders, and first aid personnel attempted life-saving measures before the child was transported to Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, where the child was later pronounced dead.
