The violence began around 11:36 a.m. when a state trooper was shot near Terminal Drive by Blue Grass Airport, according to officials.
According to reports, the suspect then drove to Richmond Road Baptist Church, where they opened fire inside the church, striking four people. Two women were pronounced dead at the scene, while two male victims were rushed to a nearby hospital — one is listed in critical condition and the other is stable. State troopers and Lexington Police Department officers confronted the armed suspect inside the church and ultimately shot and killed them during the incident on Old Richmond Road.
