Long Grove, IL (December 15, 2025) – A construction worker is in serious, possibly critical, condition following a crash involving a Ford F-350 pickup truck and a construction vehicle on Old McHenry Road in Long Grove Thursday evening.
According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred around 9:15 p.m. when the Ford F-350, traveling northbound, struck a construction vehicle that was parked on the east side of Old McHenry Road near Prairie Wind Road. The construction vehicle had its yellow flashing lights activated as workers were retrieving equipment at the time.
The impact of the crash caused a 42-year-old male worker, who was standing in the bed of the construction truck, to be thrown to the ground. The worker sustained serious injuries, which may be critical, and was immediately transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
