Cornish, ME (May 7, 2025) – A fatal head-on collision Monday afternoon claimed the life of a Limerick woman in Cornish, according to the Maine Department of Public Safety.
The crash occurred around 1:45 p.m. on May 5 along Sokokis Trail North. Troopers say a Ford Fusion traveling north crossed the centerline and collided with a southbound Ford F-350 commercial pickup truck that was towing a trailer hauling two other pickup trucks.
The driver of the Fusion, identified as 51-year-old Dawn Webber of Limerick, was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities believe Webber’s vehicle veered into the oncoming lane prior to impact. The driver of the Ford F-350 was not injured, and their identity has not been made public at this time.
The Maine State Police continue to investigate the cause of the collision and what may have led the Fusion to cross into the opposite lane.
