Dallas, TX (May 27, 2025) – Memorial Day morning travel was brought to a standstill after a multi-vehicle crash shut down all southbound lanes of U.S. Highway 75 in Dallas during a period of heavy storms.

According to reports, the accident occurred just before 6:10 a.m. on May 26 in the 4500 block of North Central Expressway Southbound, near the Knox exit. Texas Department of Transportation officials confirmed the crash involved four vehicles, prompting the complete closure of the southbound lanes as commuters made their way toward downtown Dallas.

Dallas Fire-Rescue responded to the scene and transported one person to a local hospital. The victim was reported to be in stable condition. The names of those involved have not yet been released.

The crash coincided with severe weather in the area, including heavy rainfall and gusty winds. Investigators have not determined whether weather played a direct role in the collision. As of 7 a.m., the lanes remained closed while authorities continued their investigation and worked to clear the scene.
