Detroit, MI (December 17, 2025) – A devastating early morning house fire claimed the lives of three individuals and left two others hospitalized Monday on Detroit’s west side.
According to the Michigan State Police and Detroit Fire Department, the blaze broke out just after 6:00 a.m. on December 15 in the 19000 block of Wildemere Street. Firefighters responded within five minutes, but heavy clutter inside the home created significant obstacles that delayed rescue efforts.
Two adults trapped inside the home died at the scene after firefighters were unable to reach them in time. Officials have not yet confirmed their identities, age, or gender. A teenage girl who was rescued from the home later died while en route to the hospital.
Also hospitalized were an elderly woman in critical condition and an adult male who was outside the house at the time of the fire. He is expected to recover fully.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
