Tatum, TX (September 29, 2025) – A two-vehicle crash involving a Panola County deputy injured a woman Tuesday afternoon in Tatum, according to police reports.
According to local law enforcement, the accident occurred around 1:12 p.m. on September 23 at the intersection of Texas Highway 149 and Texas Highway 43. Panola County Sheriff Ronald “Cutter” Clinton was driving a department-issued pickup truck when he reportedly failed to stop at a stop sign on West Johnson Street and entered the intersection, colliding with an SUV.
The SUV was driven by Patricia Ann Schwartz, who later reported pain and discomfort following the crash. She was transported to a Longview-area hospital for further evaluation and treatment. Sheriff Clinton was not injured and remained at the scene.
