Graham, WA (July 15, 2025) – A senior official with the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office is facing serious allegations after reportedly causing a multi-person crash while allegedly driving under the influence this past weekend in Graham. Washington State Patrol troopers said the incident happened Saturday, July 13, just before 4 p.m. along 132nd Avenue East.

According to reports, Major Chadwick Dickerson, who leads the Criminal Investigation Division, admitted to troopers he had consumed two vodka sodas earlier in the day. Troopers believe Dickerson failed to yield, causing an SUV to collide with his truck. The SUV, carrying three adults — including a pregnant woman — and three young children ages 3, 4, and 8, rolled onto its side while Dickerson’s truck came to rest in a ditch.

All six occupants of the SUV, as well as Dickerson, were taken to area hospitals for treatment. The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office emphasized that Dickerson, who was off-duty, will be held to the same legal standards as any other citizen. Washington State Patrol continues to lead the investigation, and Dickerson is scheduled for arraignment on Wednesday, July 16.
