Bourne, MA (August 27, 2025) – A Maine man is facing serious criminal charges after a suspected DUI crash on the Bourne Bridge Saturday night sent three people to the hospital.
According to state and local authorities, the collision occurred around 9:30 p.m. on August 24, when a Ford F-250 driven by 37-year-old Garret Mullen of Lewiston, Maine, rear-ended an SUV traveling across the bridge in Bourne.
The impact left three people in the SUV injured, all of whom were transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. The extent of their injuries has not yet been disclosed.
Police say Mullen showed signs of impairment at the scene and was also found to be in illegal possession of a loaded firearm, ammunition, and a large-capacity feeding device. He was arrested and now faces multiple felony and misdemeanor charges, including operating under the influence causing serious injury, illegal firearm possession, and civil violations related to alcohol and speeding.
