Alder Lake, WA (September 3, 2025) – A fatal two-vehicle accident near Alder Lake on Monday afternoon claimed the life of an 88-year-old woman from Ashford.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the crash happened around 3:36 p.m. on September 1 at the intersection of State Route 7 and Alder Cutoff Road. Authorities reported that the woman was behind the wheel of a 2015 Subaru Legacy traveling southbound on Alder Cutoff Road when she failed to yield at a stop sign. Her vehicle entered the intersection and was struck by a northbound 2001 Chevrolet Silverado on SR 7.
The woman died at the scene as a result of her injuries. An 82-year-old man from Eatonville, who was also in the Subaru, was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Investigators say drugs and alcohol were not contributing factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.
