Burnet County, TX (August 2, 2025) — A devastating three-vehicle crash claimed the lives of five women in Burnet County on the evening of July 25. The deadly collision occurred along U.S. Highway 281 near Park Road 4, drawing a large emergency response to the scene.
According to reports, the Texas Department of Public Safety says a 2018 RAM 4500 truck pulling a livestock trailer was traveling north around 6 p.m. when it veered into the southbound lanes. The truck collided head-on with a Chevrolet Malibu, then continued into the Mercedes SUV that had been behind the Malibu. The Mercedes overturned and caught fire.
All five occupants in the Mercedes SUV were tragically killed at the scene. They have been identified as Thalia Salinas, Ruby Cruz, Brianna Valadez, Desiree Cervantez, and Jacqueline Velazco.
Individuals in the other two vehicles suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The crash remains under active investigation by Texas DPS.
