Harris County, TX (August 13, 2025) — One person was killed and another injured early Tuesday morning in a fiery single-vehicle crash that shut down a busy roadway in northwest Harris County.
According to reports, the accident occurred on August 12 at the intersection of Farm to Market Road 529 and Fairview Street. A vehicle reportedly overturned and caught fire, trapping one person inside. Deputies with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office responded quickly to the scene.
Despite the efforts of responding officers—one of whom suffered a burn while pulling the victim from the vehicle—the trapped individual was later pronounced dead. Another occupant was transported to a local hospital with injuries that have not yet been disclosed.
Multiple deputies were treated for smoke inhalation at the scene. FM 529 was closed in all directions as investigators worked to determine the cause of the crash.
