Marshall Township, MI (July 12, 2025) — A two-vehicle collision early Thursday morning in Marshall Township has left one Battle Creek man dead and another injured.

According to reports, the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office responded to the fatal crash on July 11 at around 6:20 a.m. near the intersection of Verona Road and H Drive North. Preliminary findings from investigators indicate that one vehicle was traveling northwest on Verona Road when it collided with a second vehicle heading westbound on H Drive North within the intersection.

Deputies arriving on scene found both vehicles with extensive damage. The driver of the northwest-bound vehicle, identified as a 38-year-old man from Battle Creek, sustained non life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Tragically, the 56-year-old Battle Creek man driving the westbound vehicle suffered severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene despite immediate life-saving efforts from deputies and EMS personnel.
