McLean County, KY (August 3, 2025) — A tragic head-on crash in Breckinridge County claimed the lives of three people over the weekend, including a father, his 1-year-old daughter, and the driver of the second vehicle, according to Kentucky State Police.
According to reports, the deadly collision occurred just after 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 26, along Kentucky Route 261. Authorities say Hunter Lyons was driving with his wife, Macey Lyons, and their daughter, Oakleigh, when another vehicle crossed the center line and struck them head-on.
The second vehicle was driven by 48-year-old Joseph Maynard. Investigators have not yet determined what caused Maynard to veer into the oncoming lane.
Hunter Lyons and his daughter were both pronounced dead at the scene. Maynard also died from his injuries. Macey Lyons, who was reportedly on her honeymoon with her husband, suffered severe injuries and was flown to a hospital in Louisville.
In the wake of the tragedy, friends and community members are organizing a benefit at Calhoun Baptist Church on Main Street this Saturday to support the Lyons family with funeral and medical costs.
