Phoenix, AZ (October 6, 2025) – Jacqueline Louise Nelson, 86, tragically lost her life in a two-vehicle crash Friday morning, October 3, in north Phoenix, according to local authorities.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the incident occurred shortly after 11:00 a.m. near the intersection of 18th Street and Greenway Parkway. Investigators say Nelson was driving eastbound on Greenway Parkway when she attempted a left turn and failed to yield, resulting in a collision with an oncoming pickup truck.
Nelson was transported to a nearby hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased. The driver of the pickup sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was also taken to the hospital for treatment.
Police stated that impairment does not appear to have been a factor. The Phoenix Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
