Pompano Beach, FL (June 22, 2025) – A 16-year-old boy lost his life and several others were injured following a multi-vehicle crash Friday evening in Pompano Beach.
According to reports, the collision occurred just before 8 p.m. on June 21 along the 200 block of West Copans Road. A 2019 Mercedes-Benz CLA 250, driven by a 16-year-old male, was traveling westbound when a 2021 Toyota Sienna attempted to turn left from Leisure Boulevard onto Copans Road. The vehicles collided, causing the Mercedes to flip and slide on its roof into a 2015 Lexus RX 350 traveling east. A 2021 Toyota RAV4 was also damaged by flying debris.
The teen driver of the Mercedes was rushed to a nearby hospital but was later pronounced dead. Four passengers in the Mercedes, all 17 years old, were also hospitalized with injuries. The other drivers remained on the scene and were not hurt. Authorities believe excessive speed may have played a role.
