News sources show that 59-year-old Reginald Eugene Campbell was driving a westbound Infiniti EX35 on the 2200 block of Shenandoah Avenue Northwest around 1:18 a.m. on July 20 when the incident occurred. According to police, the vehicle left the roadway and struck two AEP utility poles. Campbell briefly re-entered the road before veering off again and crashing into a tree.
He died at the scene from his injuries. The impact caused significant damage to the utility infrastructure, forcing the closure of the roadway for the remainder of the day while crews worked to restore services and clear debris.
