Jackson County, OR (September 10, 2025) – Cody Austin Jenkins, 26, of Gold Hill, tragically died Monday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash along Highway 99 in Jackson County.
According to the Oregon State Police, the deadly crash occurred around 2:18 p.m. on September 8 near milepost 12. Jenkins was driving a Subaru Legacy southbound when the vehicle suddenly veered across the northbound lanes, broke through a roadside fence, and plunged into the Rogue River.
The car quickly submerged in the water. Jackson County Search and Rescue responded to the scene and assisted in recovering the vehicle from the river.
