According to reports, the accident occurred around 12:29 p.m. on August 18 at the intersection of Deepstep Road and the Fall Line Freeway (State Route 540). Investigators said the driver of a Nissan Frontier was heading north on Deepstep Road when he failed to stop at a red light and struck the side of a tractor-trailer traveling eastbound on State Route 540.
