Brentwood, PA (August 6, 2025) — A tragic crash on State Route 51 in Brentwood Tuesday evening claimed the life of a young man and shut down traffic for several hours while authorities responded and investigated the scene.
According to reports, the crash happened on August 5 in the 3900 block of Clairton Boulevard, also known as Route 51. Emergency crews and Brentwood Police responded to the scene around 9 p.m., where a vehicle with heavy front-end damage was found.
Allegheny County officials later confirmed that one person had been transported to the hospital, where he died from his injuries. The Allegheny County Medical Examiner identified the deceased as 20-year-old Chase E. Cyphers. No additional injuries were reported at the time of publication.
Following the crash, Route 51 was closed between Towns Square Way and Marylea Avenue until approximately 11:50 p.m. The cause of the crash remains under investigation by Brentwood Police.
