Corpus Christi, TX (September 28, 2025) – Two young women tragically lost their lives following a collision involving an SUV and a dump truck Monday on Old Brownsville Road in Corpus Christi.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the fatal crash occurred when an SUV heading southbound on Old Brownsville Road lost control and hydroplaned into the northbound lane. It then collided with a dump truck under circumstances still being investigated.
The impact killed 22-year-old Annstaisa Rabe and 21-year-old Uballie Gutierrez, who were occupants of the SUV. A juvenile passenger also inside the SUV was rushed to a hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The dump truck driver was transported to a medical facility as a precaution and is expected to recover.
