Dauphin County, PA (June 18, 2025) – A devastating single-vehicle accident on Route 22/322 in Reed Township left one woman dead and another person seriously injured early Monday morning.
According to reports, 24-year-old Makayla Creeley of Halifax was killed in the crash, which occurred shortly after 3:00 a.m. on June 16 near mile marker 230. Pennsylvania State Police said a 27-year-old man, also from Halifax, was driving a pickup truck westbound on Route 322 when he lost control after passing another vehicle. The truck struck an embankment and rolled multiple times before coming to rest partially on Norfolk Southern railroad tracks.
Creeley, a passenger in the vehicle, was ejected during the crash and pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities confirmed she was not wearing a seatbelt. The driver sustained serious injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
The crash shut down westbound lanes for several hours, with full reopening occurring around 8:40 a.m.
