Hardin County, TX (August 2, 2025) – Two former Buna High School students were killed late Thursday night in a devastating two-vehicle crash on Farm-to-Market Road 92 near Silsbee, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
According to reports, the deadly collision occurred around 11:30 p.m. on July 31 at the intersection of FM 92 and FM 1122. Investigators say 18-year-old Riley Ard of Buna was driving a Honda Accord when it exited a gas station parking lot and failed to yield to a northbound tow truck. The Honda was struck moments later.
Riley Ard was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger, 18-year-old Tracyn Brady of Orangefield, was rushed to CHRISTUS St. Elizabeth Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Authorities confirmed both teens were recent high school graduates. The driver of the tow truck was not reported to be injured. The Texas DPS is continuing its investigation into the circumstances of the crash.
