According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the fatal accident happened around 1:48 a.m. on September 29 along Cortez Road West, near 44th Avenue East. Investigators say the woman was driving eastbound on Cortez Road when she lost control of her car while navigating a curve.
The vehicle veered off the roadway, crossed over a grass shoulder, and struck both a light pole and a utility pole. Emergency personnel arrived at the scene and pronounced the driver deceased. No other vehicles were involved in the incident.
