Northbrook, IL (July 8, 2025) — A deadly collision brought inbound traffic to a standstill on the Edens Expressway Monday afternoon as authorities worked to investigate the scene and clear debris.
According to reports, the fatal crash happened near milepost 30 between Dundee Road and Route 41 in Northbrook on July 7. Illinois State Police responded to the scene and confirmed that all inbound lanes of the Edens Expressway were shut down between the Edens Spur and Willow Road as a result of the incident.
The wreck also forced the ramp from Dundee Road onto the Edens Expressway to close temporarily, along with all lanes of Lake-Cook Road merging onto U.S. Route 41. Total Traffic reported that the Edens Spur was closed between the Tri-State Tollway and the Edens Expressway to assist with investigation and cleanup.
All lanes were reopened shortly after 5 p.m. as investigators continue to determine the factors that led to this fatal crash.
