Sparta Township, PA (July 27, 2025) – A Corry man died Friday following a single-vehicle crash in Crawford County, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

According to reports, the incident occurred on July 26 along State Highway 89 in Sparta Township. Around an unspecified time, 60-year-old Howard Perkins was driving northbound when he failed to navigate a right-hand curve. His vehicle crossed both lanes of traffic before veering off the roadway and into a ditch, where it struck a concrete culvert.

Perkins sustained fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene. Emergency crews from the Spartansburg Volunteer Fire Department and the Crawford County Coroner’s Office responded to the location.
