Tallmadge Township, MI (August 30, 2025) — A tragic multi-vehicle crash in Ottawa County has claimed the life of an 82-year-old man following a serious collision on Lake Michigan Drive.
According to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred around 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 27 at the intersection of Lake Michigan Drive and 8th Avenue. Deputies say a Nissan sedan attempted to turn and was struck by a westbound Chevrolet pickup truck traveling on Lake Michigan Drive.
The 82-year-old Allendale man, who was a passenger in the Nissan, became pinned inside the vehicle and had to be extricated by emergency responders. He was rushed to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
The Nissan’s driver, a 79-year-old Allendale woman, was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver and passenger in the pickup, a 21-year-old man from West Olive and a 19-year-old woman from Grand Haven, also suffered injuries and were taken to the hospital. All three survivors were reported to be in stable condition on Thursday.
