Wagner, SD (July 6, 2025) – A Yankton woman lost her life following a single-vehicle crash early Saturday morning just south of Wagner, according to local authorities.
According to reports, Kristi Selwyn, 44, of Yankton, was driving a 2002 Ford F-150 northbound on 394th Avenue near 299th Street when she lost control of the truck. Investigators with the South Dakota Department of Public Safety said Selwyn over-corrected, causing the vehicle to enter a yaw, overturn, and come to rest in a ditch.
The crash occurred around 1:45 a.m. on June 28, approximately four miles south of Wagner. Selwyn was transported to a nearby hospital where she later died from her injuries. A passenger in the truck, Dewey Emery Cournoyer, 47, of Wagner, sustained minor injuries in the rollover accident.
